Suffolk police to launch community engagement feedback tool

SPD announced it will launch My90, a tool used to engage the public, collect feedback, and improve outcomes following calls for service.

SUFFOLK, Va. — A new community engagement tool is set to be launched, the Suffolk Police Department said.

SPD announced it will launch My90, a tool used to engage the public, collect feedback, and improve outcomes following calls for service.

The engagement tool from Axon will send citizens an online survey via text messages after their call for service is complete. Residents can anonymously give feedback on the quality of the service they received.

“The Suffolk Police Department is dedicated to the continual building and maintaining of trust and relationships with the community that we serve. This technology allows the Department to gather real data from those we serve on a routine basis,” Suffolk Police Chief James “Danny” Buie said.

The My90 system will launch on Thursday, August 8.

“We are excited to be supporting Suffolk Police Department’s mission to serve the public with smart, modern, and compassionate policing,” Axon’s VP and GM of My90 Kona Shen said. “We know that this type of feedback can build trust, strengthen relationships, and improve safety and we admire Suffolk Police Department commitment to using this feedback to serve their community.”
