SUFFOLK, Va. — Two people have been displaced from their Suffolk home after a fire Tuesday morning.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue officials say crews responded to a fire in the 100 block of South 5th Street.
Dispatch received a report of the fire around 7:40 a.m., the first unit arrived just 3 minutes later.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the front door of a single-story home. Crews aggressively attacked the fire from inside the home and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the home.
Officials say the occupants evacuated before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported, but the two occupants have been displaced.
