SUFFOLK, Va. — One adult was transported to a hospital with serious burn injuries after a kitchen fire in Suffolk on Sunday night.
The fire in the 300 block of Roanoke Street, near a downtown industrial area, was reported at 10:01 p.m., according to a social media post from Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue. The first units arrived on scene at 10:05. All of the occupants had made it out of the house prior to the arrival of fire units.
The fire was contained to the kitchen and marked under control at 10:20 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There was no additional information on the status of the victim available.
