SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Fire & Rescue is investigating a residential structure fire Tuesday morning.
Crews responded to a single-story house fire in the 4900 Block of Marina Drive around 7:14 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy black smoke coming from the house.
According to the department's press release, the fire was under control at 7:33 a.m. The fire was limited to one room but the entire house sustained smoke damage.
Before crews arrived, the seven occupants got out of the house. No one was injured and the Red Cross was not requested for assistance.
Fire Marshal 5 is investigating the cause of the fire.
