Police identify man killed in two-vehicle crash in Suffolk; two others hurt

One person died at the scene of the wreck in the 4000 block of Godwin Boulevard. Police identified him as Walter J. Sculthorpe, 60, of North Chesterfield, Virginia.

SUFFOLK, Va. — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Suffolk on Saturday.

Police identified the victim him as Walter J. Sculthorpe, 60, of North Chesterfield, Virginia.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded around 1:40 p.m. in the 4000 block of Godwin Boulevard.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.

A third person was also taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Officials said the roadway will be closed as police continue to investigate the crash.
