SUFFOLK, Va. — A man is dead after a crash in the Holland area of Suffolk on Tuesday, according to police.
Suffolk Emergency Communications got a call about a single vehicle crash around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday night. The accident happened in the area of Route 58 and Holland Road.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a box truck that had overturned and gone into a nearby embankment.
56-year-old Todd Jones of Norfolk was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Jones was the only person in the truck at the time of the crash.
The eastbound Holland Bypass was closed for about nine hours following the crash, but has since reopened.
Suffolk police are still investigating the crash.
