Phone call threatens John F. Kennedy Middle School in Suffolk with bombing and shooting, police say

Authorities responded just before 9:00 a.m. after school administrators notified them of a threatening phone call. Students have been relocated temporarily.

SUFFOLK, Va. — A middle school in Suffolk received a bomb threat on Tuesday morning.

Suffolk police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue are investigating a threat to school safety and John F. Kennedy. The phone call explicitly threatened bombing or shooting within school premises.

Authorities responded to the scene just before 9 a.m. after school administrators notified them. There are no reported injuries.

Students were relocated to Booker T. Washington Elementary School while authorities conducted a sweep of the building. They will be dismissed from the school as well due to inclement weather.

During the sweep, no threats to the school were found.
