SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Parks & Recreation hosted a ribbon cutting Wednesday, June 12th for the city's first Inclusive Playground at the Kids Zone Community Playground.
The new playground officially opened after the 2:30 p.m. ribbon cutting at Lake Meade Park, located at 201 Holly Lawn Parkway behind Kroger.
The inclusive play incorporates universal design to create a space so that children with different abilities can interact and play together.
The playground was partially funded through grants from the Obici Foundation and a partnership between Playcore/Gametime and the Virginia Recreation Parks Society.
