SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Investigators said a detached shed is a total loss after a fire broke out in Suffolk on Tuesday morning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue was called out to the 2800 block of Colonial Drive shortly after 11 a.m. Arriving firefighters found the shed fully engulfed, with flames threatening the home. Explosions could also be heard, due to a vehicle and acetylene tank that were inside the shed.
The fire was brought under control by 11:45. Two adult men suffered minor injuries attempting to put out the fire before the arrival of firefighters, and one firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the fire. All three were treated on scene.
Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the house, but the home did sustain heat damage from the intensity of the flames.
