1 pinned after head-on collision in Suffolk

The crash happened on Pruden Boulevard between Ennis Mill and Old Myrtle roads shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Two people are in the hospital after a head-on collision pinned one of them Saturday afternoon, according to a Facebook post from Suffolk Fire & Rescue.

When crews arrived at the scene on Pruden Boulevard between Ennis Mill and Old Myrtle roads shortly before 2 p.m., officials said one person was trapped inside their vehicle. Crews successfully pulled the person out by 2:18 p.m. That crash victim was then airlifted to a hospital with injuries considered serious.

Photos of the scene show the front end of the involved vehicles smashed and debris thrown across the roadway.

There's no word on what led up to the crash nor if any charges will be filed.
