PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Detectives are working to solve a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed in Portsmouth Monday afternoon.
Investigators say calls reporting a shooting in the 900 block of Suburban Parkway came in shortly after 5 p.m. Upon arrival, police found an adult male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics rushed the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Demond T. Mitchell of Portsmouth.
