PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection to the robbery of a Portsmouth Family Dollar.
Officers were dispatched to the store located at 1500 High St. shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Moments earlier, police say a woman entered the business and demanded money from a store employee at gunpoint. The employee complied, and the woman fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police have since identified the woman as 27-year-old Ashley S. Bern. Bern was arrested early Wednesday morning, and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Police say they've also arrested 28-year-old Antonio M. Holley, Jr. in connection to the robbery. Holley is also charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Both suspects are currently in the custody of the Portsmouth Sheriff's Office.
