PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Convenience store robberies kept police detectives busy throughout the day Saturday.
Detective Misty Holley with Portsmouth Police Department said there were five robberies in the city within a 24-hour period:
- 7-Eleven, 700 block of Mt. Vernon Ave. (Call came in at 3:14 a.m.)
- 7-Eleven, 3500 block of Deep Creek Blvd. (Call came in at 3:19 a.m.)
- Mike's Corner Store, 48 Afton Pkwy. (Call came in at 9:59 p.m.)
- 7-Eleven, 4009 Cedar Ln. (Call came in at 11:20 p.m.)
- CVS Pharmacy, 5829 High St. (Call came in at 3:16 p.m.)
Holley told 13News Now the person who robbed Mike's Corner Store in Cradock was wearing a "letterman-style" jacket and had a blue bandana covering his face when he pulled out a gun. The clerk who was there was not hurt. Detectives released surveillance footage from there as well as from the 7-Eleven on Deep Creek Boulevard that was robbed earlier in the day.
