Search is on for second person of interest in Westbury homicide in Portsmouth

According to Portsmouth Police, Shawn Jamal Harmon, 27, is considered armed and dangerous.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth Police are searching for a person of interest in connection to an August 2023 homicide.

According to a press release issued by the department on Tuesday, detectives are searching for Shawn Jamal Harmon, 27, also known as Lil Shawn. He is charged with 2nd-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and use of a firearm.

On August 12, 2023, officers said they responded to calls regarding a walk-in gunshot victim at a hospital near the crime scene at the 1200 block of County Street, in the Westbury neighborhood.

The man, 31-year-old Keith Alexander Wright, ultimately died as a result of his wounds.

At the time, detectives identified Deshawn Marque Wilkins, 32, as a person of interest before apprehending him later the same day.

Ten days later, investigators issued a release stating they were searching for Harmon. 

He is considered armed and dangerous.
