PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- SWAT team members and other police officers filled a mobile home park Thursday morning around 9:00 a.m. where someone opened fire on officers days earlier.

The Virginia State Police are taking the lead on investigating the officer-involved shooting, but Chesapeake Police will still handle the rest of the investigation.

After more than three hours, calling into the mobile home over a loudspeaker, and loud banging sounds the mobile home is damaged from the inside out.

Dianna Caruso said she knows the family who lives next door to her, inside the destroyed mobile home. She described her neighbors as an older lady, the lady’s niece, and a little infant.

"They are awesome people, they are cool people." Caruso said, "I mean I’m just baffled by what’s going on," said Caruso.
