PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) — Portsmouth Police detectives are investigating two robberies that occurred at separate 7-Elevens Sunday morning.
Police received a call at 2:50 a.m. of a robbery at 1811 Effingham Street.
A man used a note to tell the employee he was robbing the store, police said.
The man was given a roll of lottery tickets and left on foot.
Around 3:44 a.m. police were called to another robbery at 3534 Airline Blvd.
At that robbery, a black man — about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, with a medium build, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, white mask, blue jeans and black shoes — had a firearm.
The man took the employee's wallet and left on foot.
No one was injured in both incidents, and police are still investigating.
