PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Police are investigating an attempted murder-suicide that happened Wednesday afternoon in Portsmouth.
Just after 1 p.m., police reported to Paradise Creek Nature Park. There they found a woman dead, and a boy injured.
The boy was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for injuries before being released.
The Portsmouth Police Major Crimes Unit is now investigating the incident as a attempted murder-suicide. At this time, criminal charges are not expected.
To protect the privacy of the juvenile victim and family, police have decided not to share the names of those involved.
