PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man was injured in a shooting in Portsmouth Thursday evening, police said.
The investigation began shortly before 9:30 p.m. when police officers responded to the 1200 block of Highland Avenue for a reported gunshot wound.
The Portsmouth Police Department said officers found a man who had been shot when they arrived. Medics took the victim to a hospital to be treated.
Police didn't say what the man's condition was or share any information about possible suspects. An investigation is ongoing.
