PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to a late March shooting homicide.
38-year-old Omar Tyrone Evans was arrested by police on Monday in connection to the Damaracus Dildy homicide. Officials did not say what charges he is facing.
Police say they are still searching for two other people connected to the crime.
The Portsmouth Police Department (PPD) learned of a shooting in the vicinity of the 2400 block of Chesnut Street around 2:15 a.m. on March 17.
At the scene, officers found 29-year-old Damarcus Dildy shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, PPD said.
Portsmouth police say the investigation is still underway.
