PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A woman has been arrested in connection with a double homicide last year in Portsmouth.
33-year-old Akea Faison was captured by US Marshals in Jackson, Mississippi, after 20 months on the run. She was wanted for her alleged involvement in a robbery and shooting on Dale Drive in March of 2023, where two men died.
Investigators say Faison was in Mississippi, working under an assumed identity. She was taken into custody at her workplace without incident on Tuesday afternoon by the US Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
She's currently being held in a Mississippi jail, awaiting extradition back to Virginia, where she'll face two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
