YWCA hosting expert panel at Norfolk State on racial disparities in domestic violence

Panelists from NSU, the G.R.O.W. foundation, YWCA and Samaritan House are coming together to discuss how to curb domestic violence in local communities.

NORFOLK, Va. — The YWCA of South Hampton Roads is hosting a panel at Norfolk State University on racial disparities in domestic violence.

As part of 2023's Week Without Violence, the Black, Blue & Purple panel discussion will explore the racial disparities in domestic violence cases and solutions to address the root causes of domestic violence seen in local communities. It is being hosted in part by the Center for African-American Public Policy at Norfolk State University

Featured panelists for the event Dr. Stephanie Howard from Norfolk State University, Neisha Himes from G.R.O.W. Foundation, Kristen Pine from YWCA South Hampton Roads & Norfolk Family Justice Center and Courtney Pierce from Samaritan House.
