NORFOLK, Va. — A woman has been peacefully taken into custody following a barricade situation in Norfolk Thursday night.
According to a post on social media, around 11:10 p.m. officers received a call about a barricade situation in the 8300 block of Guam Parkway, in the Liberty Military Housing community.
At the time of the original post, police had already been at the scene for a little over two hours.
It wasn't until 3:16 a.m. Friday that police reported they had taken a woman into custody peacefully – it was also at that time that the entrance of the Village at Whitehurst Farms was unblocked.
Norfolk police shared later Friday morning that 31-year-old Cherizme Hill was arrested following the barricade.
Hill has been charged with domestic assault, brandishing a firearm, and child endangerment. Police say no injuries were reported during this incident. She is now held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Police say there will be more details to follow.
