Woman dies after being hit in Home Depot parking lot

Police said the woman was hit in the parking lot. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

NORFOLK, Va. — A woman died after being hit by a truck in a Home Depot parking lot.

According to investigators, 68-year-old Randi B. Ferraro was walking in the parking lot when she was hit by a truck that was attempting to park.

Norfolk police responded to the Home Depot at 1261 N. Military Highway at 2 p.m. Friday after they received reports for a serious crash involving a pedestrian.

When police arrived, they found Ferraro lying in the parking lot.

She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries where she later died.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and was not injured.

Once the Norfolk Police Traffic Fatality Team completes their investigation. Their findings will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine charges.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
