USS Hershel 'Woody' Williams to deploy from Naval Station Norfolk

The newly commissioned USS Hershel "Woody" Williams will depart from Naval Station Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Va. — The newly commissioned USS Hershel "Woody" Williams will depart from Naval Station Norfolk on Monday, July 27.

Formerly the USNS Hershel "Woody" Williams became the USS Hershel "Woody" Williams in March after its commissioning ceremony.

The ship follows USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3), which is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations. 

The USS Hershel "Woody" Williams will deploy to the U.S. Naval Forces Africa area of operations.
