NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is on the map as not only one of the top hospitals in the state, but also for landing it's Cardiology and Heart Surgery program as one of the top 50 heart programs in the country!
These rankings are according to U.S. News & World Report annual 'Best Hospitals' edition.
Sentara Norfolk is ranked #1 in Hampton Roads and #2 in the state of Virginia. Several of it's programs are also listed as high performing including Geriatrics, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology.
Also, for the 17th year in a row, the Cardiology & Heart Surgery program at Sentara Norfolk is ranked among the nation's top 50 heart programs.
Sentara Heart Hospital is also in the top one percent cardiology and heart surgery programs in the nation.
