NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Norfolk police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Friday.
Police were called to Chesapeake Boulevard and Robin Hood Road around 3:30 p.m. The single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 37-year-old Derrick Lawson.
When police arrived on the scene they located Lawson lying in the roadway unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that Lawson was traveling in the 3300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard when he lost control of his motorcycle. His motorcycle left the roadway and struck a power pole.
No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
