Police investigate double shooting near NSU

NSU Police were alerted of the shooting just before 2 o'clock Monday morning.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Police in Norfolk are investigating an overnight shooting that left two people injured.

It happened in the 900 block of Majestic Avenue, near the campus of Norfolk State University, just before 2 a.m.

Norfolk Police dispatch operators said the shooting was first called in by NSU police.

Two adult men had been shot. Both were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Norfolk police officers and campus police spent much of the morning on scene around Majestic Avenue, including nearby university dorms.

Norfolk Police said NSU Police are leading the investigation.

Shots Fired Off Campus

On 12-3-2018 at approximately 0147am, there was a report of shots fired in the 2700 block of Majestic Avenue. Norfolk Police and Norfolk State University Police responded to the location to conduct a check of the area and found two people injured please avoid this area.
