NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A third suspect has been arrested Friday in connection with a murder on Orchid Avenue March 1.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of East Little Creek Road for a single vehicle crash. Once on the scene, officers found 25-year-old Patrick M. Cochrane inside the crashed car suffering from a gunshot wound.
Cochrane was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
After further investigation, police determined Cochrane was shot in the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue before driving to E. Little Creek Road.
Three people have been charged in connection with Cochrane's murder: Jeremy Harris, Becca Banta, and Thomas Nesmith.
On March 5, Jeremy Harris and Becca Banta were arrested. 13News Now spoke with the victim's family who claimed Banta is Patrick's ex-girlfriend.
Thomas Nesmith, a 24-year-old who lives on the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue, was arrested on Friday. He was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.
Nesmith is currently being held on the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Cochrane's ex-girlfriend, Banta, was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy, and accessory to murder.
Jeremy Harris has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.
