NORFOLK, Va. — A 62-year-old woman was badly hurt when she was hit by a vehicle while walking near North Military Highway late Monday afternoon, the Norfolk Police Department (NPD) said.
Police said the pedestrian was struck near the corner of North Military Highway and Johnstons Road at around 4:10 p.m. She was rushed to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.
The driver involved in the collision waited for police to respond.
NPD has not said what led up to the crash or if any charges will be pursued.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by NPD's Traffic Fatality Unit.
