Norview Middle School students treated following overdose symptoms

One of the students was taken to CHKD for treatment, Norfolk police said. However, a spokesperson with the school division says no overdoses were reported Wednesday.

NORFOLK, Va. — Two teenagers are recovering after they allegedly showed symptoms that seemed to indicate a drug overdose, the Norfolk Police Department (NPD) said.

Despite what NPD shared, a spokesperson with Norfolk Public Schools said no student overdoses were reported in the school division Wednesday.

Police said officers were called to Norview Middle School around 11 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a possible overdose. Officers found two boys, one 13 and the other 14, showing symptoms consistent with an overdose. One of the teens was taken to CHKD for medical treatment.

Norfolk police continue to investigate the incident, and they say charges are pending.
