NORFOLK, Va. — A man has been arrested after a narcotics investigation closed Tidewater Drive for several hours on Tuesday.
Norfolk police say that around 5:12 a.m., a plainclothes investigator was in the 900 block of Denhart Street to conduct a narcotics investigation when someone fired a weapon in the officer's direction.
The Special Operations Teams was called to the scene and a man was taken into custody without further incidents.
51-year-old Darren Britt of Norfolk has been charged with two counts of attempted malicious wounding, two counts of use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Britt is being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
No officers at the scene fired a weapon and no injuries were reported.
Detectives haven't released any other details.
