Search for suspects after 13-year-old girl shot in Norfolk near Lambert's Point

Police say the teen was shot multiple times, but is expected to recover from her injuries.

NORFOLK, Va. — Police are looking for the suspects who were involved in a shooting in Norfolk that sent a 13-year-old girl to the hospital.

The Norfolk Police Department said the shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. Friday on West 26th Street, just off of Hampton Boulevard and near Lambert's Point.

Officers who responded to the scene found the teen girl suffering from multiple gunshot wounds that are not considered life-threatening, according to Noel Lipieko, Public Information Officer with the Norfolk Police Department.

The girl was taken to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and is expected to recover.

Police say they are searching for two men who may have been involved in the shooting. No description of either man has been made available at this time.

Detectives are asking anyone who was in the 1300 block of W 26th Street at the time of the shooting who might have seen anything suspicious to call the Norfolk Police Homicide Unit at 757-664-7023.
