Norfolk murder suspect sentenced to more than 17 years in prison

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A man who pleaded guilty to a murder charge in the death of a 19-year-old man was sentenced to spend more than 17 years in prison Friday.

Montrell D'Angelo Davis, 26, pleaded guilty in March to charges he faced in the 2011 death of Kameron Collier.

He was sentenced to spend 33 years with 15 years and eight months suspended resulting in 17 years and four months to serve.

Davis faced second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police arrested Davis in October of 2015 after a four-year search.
