NORFOLK, Va. — Those who see fire or smoke coming from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) this week shouldn't be alarmed, as officials say it is most likely part of ongoing training.

A spokesperson from Norfolk Aiport Authority at ORF says that their Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting unit will be conducting live burn exercises some evenings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

They reached out to inform the public that there may be visible flames or smoke while the FAA-required training is conducted.

The exercises will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The training site is within the airport fence line north of Miller Store Road near the Norfolk Premium Outlets.
