NORFOLK, Va. — A house fire in Norfolk left one person hurt early Friday morning, officials said.
The fire happened in the 800 block of Oak Avenue, which is in the Ingleside area of the city. The call came in shortly before 4:30 a.m.
When getting there, crews with Norfolk Fire-Rescue confirmed heavy smoke and flames were coming from the house. The fire was deemed under control at 5:15 a.m.
Medics took one person to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening. The fire displaced four people and the Red Cross is assisting those affected.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
