NORFOLK, Va. — A person and a child have been displaced after a house fire in Norfolk after midnight Tuesday, say officials.
Norfolk Fire Rescue says they were dispatched to 3455 Edward Street around 12:45 a.m. for a report of a house fire. When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from a 2-story townhouse.
Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to get the fire under control just after 1:25 a.m.
Norfolk Fire Rescue says one adult and one child were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The Red Cross was contacted to assist them.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
