NORFOLK, Va. — Police said a barricade situation ended peacefully and a woman was taken into custody in Norfolk on Tuesday evening.
The Norfolk Police Department said officers were called to Dover Circle around 5:23 p.m. for a report of a domestic-related shooting. Police said a man was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
A standoff ensued between officers and a person inside a home. Police asked for people to avoid the area around Dover Circle.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., police posted on social media that "the situation has resolved peacefully" and a woman was in custody.
Authorities offered no other immediate information about the circumstances of the shooting and ensuing barricade situation.
