NORFOLK, Va. — One adult and six children were forced out of their home overnight when a blaze ignited in a Norfolk apartment, officials said.
The fire occurred on the first floor of a two-story apartment located on Green Leaf Drive shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, according to Norfolk Fire-Rescue. Crews were able to bring the blaze under control by 1:15 a.m., preventing it from spreading to the nearby apartment.
No one was hurt, however, Norfolk Fire-Rescue said the Red Cross is helping seven people who were displaced.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
