NORFOLK, Va. — New architectural renderings reveal a new look for Norfolk's casino project.
The Headwaters Resort and Casino project is again on the table before Norfolk city leaders, as it faces the latest step in the now years-long journey to get the project off the ground.
The casino project will go before Norfolk's Architectural Review Board on Monday, August 19.
It was previously slated to go before the ARB in January, before it was eventually pulled back by the developers to update their presentation.
Originally approved by city voters in a 2020 referendum, the city and the Pamunkey Indian Tribe have yet to break ground on the project. In the time since, voters in both Norfolk and Portsmouth approved casinos in their respective cities.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth was built and has already celebrated its first anniversary.
