NORFOLK, Va. — Firefighters battled a fire at a multi-unit complex in Norfolk late Tuesday morning.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue said no one was home when the fire started at around 11:20 a.m. near Branch Road and West Tanners Creek Drive.
Heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the second-floor window of the complex when crews arrived. Firefighters successfully contained the fire to one unit and brought it under control just before 11:40 a.m.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue reported no one was hurt but did not say how many people were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
