NORFOLK, Va. — A 69-year-old woman was arrested after hitting and seriously injuring a pedestrian on East Little Creek Road on Monday night, according to the Norfolk Police Department (NPD).
NPD responded to a call reporting a pedestrian crash in the 2900 block of East Little Creek Road around 10 p.m. The driver, later identified as Beverly Simerson, was allegedly driving while impaired when the crash happened.
When officers arrived, they found a man seriously hurt. He was transported to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where NPD says he remains as of Tuesday evening.
Simerson was arrested at the scene and booked into the Norfolk City Jail on a driving under the influence charge.
NPD is still investigating the incident.
