NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Norfolk city leaders said they plan to make a major announcement concerning the Elizabeth River Trail on Friday.
According to our partners at The Virginian-Pilot, the nonprofit Friends of the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation is more than halfway to its goal of $4 million. That money would go toward improving the trail with water fountains, playgrounds, charging stations and more.
The announcement will take place at Plum Point Park at 4 p.m. Friday. Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander will be there.
