NORFOLK, Va. — Four teenagers are facing charges and an investigation remains ongoing over an alleged assault that happened at a Norfolk high school last month, police said.
According to the Norfolk Police Department, a 15-year-old boy suffered minor injuries following a fight at Lake Taylor High School on Feb. 6. Another 15-year-old boy was initially charged in connection to the incident, and as the investigation continued, police said two more 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy were also charged.
Police said all four teens are charged with malicious wounding/assault by mob.
A spokesperson for Norfolk Public Schools issued the following statement to 13News Now:
"Norfolk Public Schools continues to cultivate a safe, caring, and welcoming environment whereby the physical and social-emotional needs of each student are valued. Norfolk Public Schools does not comment on student matters. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our priority at Norfolk Public Schools."
