Kroger to close Norfolk pharmacy

Kroger Mid-Atlantic announced that it will close the pharmacy on East Little Creek Road in Norfolk in early June.

NORFOLK, Va. — Kroger Mid-Atlantic announced it will close the pharmacy located at 230 East Little Creek Road in Norfolk in early June.

The standalone pharmacy has been operating since May 3, 2018.

Kroger purchased the store as a part of the Farm Fresh acquisition. Last October, Kroger Mid-Atlantic announced that it did not plan to reopen the former Farm Fresh store as a Kroger store.

Less than 5 associates will be affected by the closing. Opportunities have already been identified for all pharmacy employees at other Kroger locations in Hampton Roads.

Customers who have prescriptions at the pharmacy will be able to get their orders filled at the Harris Teeter located at Wards Corner, 7550 Granby Street and prescriptions will be available the morning after the pharmacy closes.

Kroger said the closing will not impact the charitable contributions to the Hampton Roads community, including donations and gifts towards hunger relief as part of the company’s Zero Hunger l Zero Waste initiative.

“The decision to close a pharmacy is one that we take very seriously,” said Jerry Clontz, president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division. “We’re so thankful for our associates and our customers and our number one priority at this time is helping them through this transition."
