NORFOLK, Va. — Whether you like ghosts, spiders, and witches, or just like good food and costumes, the Waterside District has an event for you.
Frightmare, Virginia's top haunted house, is crawling back to the Waterside District with the Fears and Phobias. The "spine-tingling night" kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
“Our partner, Frightmare VA, is decorating our entryway this year, so it’s guaranteed to kick you off with a thrill or two," said Janet Aguilar, Waterside District Marketing Manager. "Plus, the costume contest will be pretty epic. Some entries are really impressive and definitely deserving of the big prizes they win each year!”
There is more than $5,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs in the annual costume contest. Attendees will compete in various categories, including Best Overall/Most Original, Best Duo/Best Group and Best in Show.
"Get ready to immerse yourself in a chilling, yet thrilling event that brings your deepest fears & phobias to life," the event's website reads.
The fright night is a 21+ event. Tickets can be purchased online and include access to more than a dozen bars, karaoke, silent disco and entry into the costume contests.
