NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A former bookkeeper for the Norfolk Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was sentenced Friday on 10 felony embezzlement charges, according to the Virginian Pilot.

Kimberly A. Raeburn, 44, now of Ohio, was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison for stealing more than $135,000 from the organization.

The paper reports that Raeburn used some of the money to take a first-class trip to Las Vegas, fly her family into town for the holidays, buy a motorcycle for her then-boyfriend and purchase several appliances and televisions.  Raeburn also bought a $2,000 purebred English bulldog.
