NORFOLK, Va. — Firefighters battled a blaze at an empty portable classroom at Tidewater Park Elementary School in Norfolk Saturday morning, officials said.
Norfolk Fire Rescue responded to the fire on East Brambleton Avenue at 8:35 a.m. When crews arrived, officials said smoke was coming from a portable classroom behind the main building.
The fire was brought under control just after 9 a.m.
The classroom was vacant at the time of the fire. No one was injured, according to Norfolk Fire Rescue.
Investigators are working to determine what sparked it.
