NORFOLK, Va. — The holiday lights in Downtown Norfolk will be lighting up this Saturday during the Grand Illumination Parade.
This is the 37th Annual Norfolk Grand Illumination Parade. It takes place every Saturday before Thanksgiving. Norfolk spokespeople say the event brings "thousands of spectators out to the streets of Downtown Norfolk to take in the beauty, magic and electric holiday spirit to kick off the season."
There will be vendors along the parade route as well as restaurants to try.
The parade will feature floats, bands, balloons and even an appearance from everyone's favorite North Pole resident, Santa Claus.
It is taking place Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The 2-mile parade route begins at the corner of St. Paul's Boulevard and Main Street.
Norfolk encourages people to arrive early to avoid traffic delays.
Those who can't attend can watch the show live on Downtown Norfolk's Facebook and website.
You can find more information about the parade on their website.
