NORFOLK, Va. — Cooking with Greens is dedicated to cooking healthy homemade meals, and soon people will have the opportunity to visit and shop in person.
The black-owned family business is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the Norfolk Selden Market.
Derak and Anita Green, founded this business in 2017. It started out as a Facebook page, where they shared cooking recipes and interacted with supporters through Facebook live. They now have a website where customers can purchase unique seasonings, a cookbook filled with recipes, and more.
According to their website, "A portion of every sale is dedicated to feeding families in need, reflecting our belief in the power of community support and generosity."
Green told 13News Now that they plan to offer an experience at Selden Market. Instead of just selling products people will have the opportunity to also create their own spices at their spice bar.
The Selden Market is a space for entrepreneurs and up-and-coming small businesses to develop and test new ideas.
The ribbon cutting for "Cooking with Greens" is on April 5., at 11 a.m.
