NORFOLK, Va. — Kimber Poindexter has been battling an aggressive cancer for several years, since she was four years old.
She recently traveled to Washington DC for treatment, and as medical bills began to stack up, the community also stepped up to lend a helping hand.
Colley Ave Tattoo hosted a fundraiser Sunday where 100% of the proceeds went to help Kimber's family with medical expenses.
“Everybody in the hospital world pretty much showed up today too, and teachers from her school…The local community definitely showed up,” said Kimber’s father, a tattoo artist at Colley Ave Tattoo.
The line Sunday stretched along the front of the tattoo parlor and extended past several neighboring businesses, all for a great cause.
Nearby businesses also contributed a portion of their sales to Kimber’s family. For more ways to help, visit Colley Ave tattoo’s website.
